The Goomeri Pumpkin Festival is held in Goomeri on the last Sunday in May each year, and after 21 years it’s become a Queensland icon.
Goomeri’s normal population is about 500, but the Pumpkin Festival sees this swell to more than 15,000 as visitors descend on the town from all over south-east Queensland for a day of pumpkin-inspired fun.
This year, the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival Committee will be marking the South Burnett and Cherbourg On Show October long weekend with a free outdoor family movie night.
The movie night will be held in Dickinson Park on the Burnett Highway just a block west of Goomeri’s famous Town Of 1911 clock.
This will be an unsupervised, all ages event and guests only need to bring chairs or throw rugs.
A BBQ, soup van, hot chips, fairy floss, popcorn, sno cones and soft drinks will all be available to purchase on site from 5:00pm, and the screening will start around sunset at 6:30pm.
