About South Burnett & Cherbourg On Show

South Burnett and Cherbourg On Show is a festival of events held throughout the South Burnett and Cherbourg every October long weekend.

Over the course of four days, the Festival offers a wide range of events and activities to suit every taste and interest – anything from art exhibitions and music concerts through to dining experiences, outdoor adventures and fun learning opportunities.

The South Burnett is located approximately 2.5 hours north-west of Brisbane; approximately 1.5 hours due north of Toowoomba; and about an hour’s drive west of the Sunshine Coast, Gympie and Hervey Bay.

The South Burnett is home to the Bunya Mountains National Park; Lake Boondooma and the Bjelke-Petersen Dam; and is Queensland’s largest wine region.

And Cherbourg, our neighbour, is the closest Indigenous community to Brisbane.

Many events that run during the long weekend are either free or have a small entrance fee attached. They’re designed to be family-friendly.

Some others – such as the Festival’s launch dinner – may have a higher charge attached.
